Vinylmation

This is where Disney trys to capitalize on the Japanese Toy Movement with their own "Artist " Designed Mickey Mouse Vinylmation figures. The small haunted Mansion figure is 3 inches tall and retailed for $9.95. The larger figure stands 9 inches tall and also contains a bonus 3 inch figure. The set retailed for $74.95. I have also enclosed a scan of the card which came inside the small 3 inch figure.

Time will tell if these figures will catch on with collectors.

Here is the DLR GWP card

Haunted Mansion PIns

I thought it would be fun to keep track of all of the Haunted Mansion merchandise released in 2009, the year of the mark of the Ghost 9-9-9. So let the consumption begin...

I miss them already!!

There is no joy in Mudville today!

I just learned that it is true, during the Florida Rehab of the Haunted Mansion some genius at Imagineering decided to rip out my heart by removing all 11 of the Sinister 11 Portraits from the hallway and replacing them with the lightning effect portraits like the ones they have in Disneyland. I am usually not one to complain when Disney makes changes, rip out my favorite childhood ride, Mr. Toad, from Walt Disney World? That’s fine now I have something to look forward to when I go to Disneyland. But that’s just it there is a choice, rip out Country Bears in Disneyland, well then you can still jet off to Florida to see them. However now has Imagineering left me with any way to visit my 11 Sinister friends? Will they remain in Japan? so now to have a more authentic Mansion experience from my childhood I will have to jet off 20 hours half way across the world?…what I always loved about those 11 paintings was the fact that it set the Florida Mansion apart from the Disneyland version, and I just loved the variety of Sinister Villains in that hallway. Anyway I am bummed, if I do get to Japan someday I would really hope that my 11 friends are there waiting for me.

2002 Happy Haunts Event Numero Uno

Here is a picture from the 2002 Happy Haunts, I find it funny that back then I thought it “Cool” to wear a pin lanyard with pins..oh how the times have changed, I am now a confirmed “Hey kid youll drown in the lake with that thing on”

Best things about the 2002 Happy Haunts:
Master Gracey Pin
Frame Sets
Raven Jumbo pin
Steven A. Miller Disney Ambassador

Worse things about the 2002 Happy Haunts:
Having to pick up your stuff in Adventureland and then Shlep it all out of the park or pay for a locker to hold it all.
Not very clear about the goof with the edition size of the Master Gracey pin
The Food set the bar very low for future events but leave it to Disney to do worse (See 2003 Happy Haunts)

Donkey Kong versus Rocky Balboa

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters

Any fan of pop culture and documentaries should love this movie. It is a true Rocky story about a underdog trying to upstage the champion..their playing field of choice is Donky Kong. This has to be one of the funniest documentaries of all time and during the first 10-15 minutes you will swear this is some sort of Spinal Tap type mockumentary. Let me tell you it isn’t and it is side splitting funny to watch these characters maneuver their way towards the All-Time Donky Kong High score. The fact that the film revolves around playing Donkey Kong is really not that central to the story but rather it shows one mans obsession to his quest to be Donkey Kong champion. In one portion of the film Steve Weibe shows up unexpectedly at a restaurant owned by the champ, Patti commented that the gossip that ensues reminds her of some of the discussions that go on within our Disney Pin Trading group…anyway grab a fistful of quarters and go check out this hidden Gem before I chumpify you!!
